New Les Mills Programming Coordinator

NEW LES MILLS PROGRAM ADVISER!

Island Health & Fitness would like to announce that MONICA VAN FLEET has agreed to take on a leadership role for all of our Les Mills programing! We look forward to continuing to make your group fitness experiance as positive and rewarding as ever. Monica brings a lot to the table and we are excited have her take on this new role! 

 

More about MONICA:

Hometown: Ridgewood, NJ

Education: B.A. Cornell University, M.Ed. Vanderbilt University. Certified in BodyPump, BodyAttack and BodyStep and have completed AIMs (Advanced Instructor Module) for each program. I enjoy going to quarterly workshops, reading about fitness, participating in webinars - there is always more to learn!

Siblings: 1 younger brother

Started at Island: 2012 as a member, 2015 as an instructor

Hobbies: exercise, gardening

Favorite exercise: burpees 

Favorite food: tortilla chips and guacamole

Favorite movie/TV show: The Office

Favorite thing about Island: The people! I am inspired every time I come into Island.

Favorite Vacation Spot: Victoria, B.C.

Favorite spot in Ithaca: at home with my family

Something you may not know about me: I'm passionate about group fitness because I know firsthand the difference our classes can make. I started out at Island as an overweight, out-of-shape former athlete. In our group fitness classes we work hard, we have fun...and we get great results!

Hidden talent: chaos control... I have 3 sons :)
