Group Fitness Highlight: Integral Yoga

Integral Yoga is a gentle, meditative yoga class appropriate for all levels taught by Nick Boyar. The class includes physical poses and stretches, relaxation exercises, and guided meditations to improve flexibility, raise and balance energy levels, release stress, and enable participants to experience peace and happiness within.

Nick Boyar teaches Integral Yoga, Gentle Yoga for People with Cancer, and the Mindful Stress Reduction program at Island Health & Fitness. He also teaches meditation in the Physical Education & Wellness department at Cornell University, and has a private practice as a mindfulness instructor and life coach. Certified as a yoga teacher at Satchidananda Ashram in Virginia in 2002, he returns there every summer to train yoga teachers to teach meditation and yoga philosophy. 

Nick is a qualified teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and received his training from the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He has taught the MBSR program at schools, universities, hospitals, and health centers since 2007, and currently teaches the Mindful Stress Reduction program at Island and Rasa Spa. He is a native Ithacan, a former high school history teacher, a father to a teenage son, and a resident of Ecovillage at Ithaca. His website is nickboyar.com.
