Trainer Tips with Karyn Linderberry

December 6, 2018

-Show Up! It is easy to make excuses such as “I am too tired”, or “ I will not have enough time to do my whole routine”.  I am going to say, ‘Oh well”, Doing something is better than not doing anything at all. Showing up for some sort of workout will help you stay in a routine if nothing else.

-Try an interval timed routine! Routines where you use 4-10 different full body exercises and a timer can be extremely effective. The Jacobs ladder would be a great exercise machine to work into a routine of this sort.  Interval routines allow you to sneak in good short bursts of exercise during the busy season. You could also do this at home.

-Be prepared! Keep sneakers, workout clothing, water and a snack in your car. This may give you the freedom to sneak in a work out or walk at unexpected times during holiday engagements, or maybe this will get you to get your workouts in early so that you will not miss out.

-Be creative! Personally I have found much value in this last suggestion. Yes! Working out at the gym is ideal for most of us, but it is pretty amazing how hard we can work-out when using our own body weight, or a pair of free weights. When you are stuck at home try doing squats, push-ups, planks, lunges, crunches in your living room.
