Cayuga Coaching Program Update

April 23, 2015

Race season is upon us and the Cayuga Coaching Program has the programs that you need to run your personal best. 

The Gorges Ithaca Half Marathon Training program is in week 5 and all the participants are making steady gains in endurance, speed, and most importantly, confidence. Classes meet twice a week with shorter duration, higher intensity workouts on Monday focusing on hill repeats and temp pace and longer, low intensity workouts on Saturday mornings.  Saturday is also the perfect time to work on pacing the intimidating hills on the course and to chat about specifics when it comes to nutrition, race strategy, and training theory.

The workouts don’t end there. Each participant has their own individualized weekly training program, through Trainingpeaks.com that helps them keep on track. 


Spots are still open for the Express Gorges Ithaca Half Marathon training program which has a rolling enrollment. If you are interested in joining the class please feel free to contact Adrian Western at awestern@cayugamed.org
