The TRX and Kettlebell can be used by all types of populations to develop physical fitness. The TRX is a form of suspension training that used body weight exercises to develop strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability. The kettlebell can help build mobility, stability, strength and power with varies exercises. Join this TRX and Kettlebell class with trainer Isabella to get a dynamic full body workout!

Women On Weights

Learn the proper way to incorporate strength training into your life, as well as core, balance, and flexibility exercises!

Women On Weights is a circuit training program designed to give you a total body workout in the Island Oasis room. The workout program incorporates a warm-up, strength and cardiovascular stations, stretching, and use of equipment like: the Cybex circuit, free weights, stability balls, medicine balls, and dyna discs.

Salsa Class Descriptions

SALSA BEGINNER LEVEL 1 6:30-7:30PM

In Salsa Beginner 1 we teach a set of 20 steps needed to dance Salsa individually, as a single couple, and amongst multiple couples in a Rueda de Casino. These include “The Scales of Salsa” & “The Octagon,” a set of turns and step sequences, and the cross-body lead combinations “Dile Que No” and “Dile Que Si,” which are clockwise and counter-clockwise lead-follow rotations.

SALSA SUELTA CUBAN LINE DANCE 7:40-8:40PM

Salsa Suelta is a “free style” line dance created in Cuba. In this class, we teach the timing, steps, and flow of Salsa Suelta, and integrate steps from other Cuban dances – Rumba, Mambo, Cha Cha Cha, Son, Pilon, and Makuta. We then use these movements to build fun, low-impact cardio dance sequences that improve your health and prepare you to shine on any dance floor. With two dance instructors, class is organized into two sections to accommodate different levels. No dance experience necessary, all levels welcome.

Weightlifting 101

Starts May 1st 2021

Join Ashley Fennel and Jon Tanguay as they break down the basics behind the squat, deadlift, bench press, and pull-up.  They will cover appropriate warm-ups for each muscle group, proper body mechanics, and accessory exercises for improving strength in each exercise.
 
This class is a great option for those who have been struggling to increase strength or anyone who is interested in improving their technique and progressing on to Olympic-style weightlifting.
 

Space is limited to a maximum of 6 participants. You can register online through the Empower Me section of the website, or in-person at the Front Desk downtown.
